Physical and chemical properties:
Copper oxide (CuO) is a black oxide of copper, slightly amphiphilic, and slightly hygroscopic. The relative molecular weight is 79.545, the density is 6.3-6.9 g/cm3, and the melting point is 1326 ℃. Insoluble in water and ethanol, soluble in acid, ammonium chloride, and potassium cyanide solutions, slowly dissolved in ammonia solution, capable of reacting with strong bases.
Main use:
① Pesticide fungicides;
② Used for fireworks and firecrackers, as a surface heat absorber for solar energy;
③ Used for glass, ceramics, enamel, artificial silk, ferrite magnetic materials;
④ Electroplating of electronic circuit boards;
⑤ Artificial rainfall and catalysts.
